TikTok Shop Mall in Vietnam: Requirements and Why It Matters for Creator Campaigns
TikTok Shop Mall is the official brand-store tier on TikTok Shop in Vietnam. For a foreign or local brand it is mostly a documents-and-operations question, and for a creator campaign it decides which shop your KOCs send buyers to. This guide explains who can open a shop at all, how brand authorization gates the Mall programme, what TikTok's own Mall terms require, what a third-party summary adds, and how Mall status changes the way you brief and pay creators. Rules and thresholds change, so treat the pages we cite as the source of truth and re-check them in Seller Center before you apply.

Short answer
What is TikTok Shop Mall in Vietnam and what does it require?
TikTok Shop Mall is the programme for official brand shops. According to TikTok's Vietnam terms, a seller must sell only authentic brand products with accurate brand tagging, prove authority to sell with valid documents, offer extended and free-return after-sales service, join the Shipping Fee Program and meet shop performance and profile rules. TikTok approves applicants at its discretion.
- Corporate sellers must be registered in Vietnam; individual sellers must be Vietnamese citizens
- Brand authorization (trademark certificate or authorization letter) is the gate
- Mall allows only branded products, no OEM or unbranded items
- Mall sellers offer extended returns, including change of mind, with no return shipping charged to the buyer
- Documents must stay valid for as long as the shop stays in Mall
- For creators, Mall status changes the trust of the destination shop and what you put in the brief
1. What TikTok Shop Mall is
TikTok Shop Mall is a programme on top of a normal shop. TikTok's Vietnam terms say the programme may give an eligible shop a Mall tag, a 100% Authentic tag on eligible product listings and benefits under the Shipping Fee Program, and that TikTok can change those benefits by notice.
It is not automatic. The terms state that TikTok may charge a fee to participate, accepts sellers at its sole discretion, and may refuse an applicant even if all criteria are met. Plan the application as a project, not a button.
2. Who can open a shop at all
TikTok Shop Vietnam's Seller Registration Guidelines say individual sellers must be Vietnamese citizens aged 18 or over, and corporate sellers must be entities registered in Vietnam. A foreign company without a Vietnamese entity therefore cannot register its own corporate shop under those guidelines.
The same page notes that individual sellers may be restricted from selling certain brands. If you want to list those brands, it says to register a corporate seller account and submit brand authorization to prove you may sell them.
3. Brand authorization is the gate
The Mall terms require a seller to give TikTok valid documentation proving authority to sell all products in the shop, and forbid listing any product without it. TikTok can grant an extension of up to three months from the date of registration for the programme to supply this documentation.
In practice the document depends on who you are. A trademark owner shows trademark ownership. A distributor shows an authorization letter or distribution agreement from the owner or from the party above it. The shop-name rules also tie to this: authorised brands may add the word Official to a shop name, while words such as Flagship or Authorized are prohibited.
4. What the Mall terms require day to day
On authenticity, the terms require products to be 100% authentic, consist of brand products only (no OEM), carry accurate brand tagging and follow TikTok's Mall policy. On service, the seller must offer dedicated after-sales support with an extended refund and return window, including change-of-mind returns, and no return shipping cost charged to the buyer.
The seller must also join the Shipping Fee Program, meet shop performance criteria and follow guidelines for shop name, logo, product names and images. TikTok may remove a seller who fails the performance requirement for three consecutive months or cannot supply documentation on time.
- Authenticity: genuine, branded, correctly tagged products
- After-sales: extended returns, change of mind accepted, free return shipping for the buyer
- Operations: Shipping Fee Program and shop performance criteria
- Profile: shop name, logo, product name and image guidelines
5. What a third-party summary adds
Metric, a Vietnamese e-commerce data company, published a January 2026 guide summarising Mall conditions. It says TikTok Shop Mall launched in November 2023, reports nearly 4,000 brands and authorised distributors by mid-2025 citing the TikTok Shop Vietnam Summit 2025, and lists operating thresholds such as a shop score of at least 3.5 and violation points below 12.
It also says at least 80% of products must be registered under the brand certificate, that brand recognition evidence such as a website, social accounts or a physical store is requested, and that Shipping Fee Program participation is required. These numbers come from a secondary source and may have changed, so confirm every threshold in Seller Center before you plan around it.
6. What happens when authenticity is challenged
Under the terms, if a buyer files a counterfeit complaint TikTok can ask the seller for proof such as a letter of authorization, an official brand distribution agreement or product serialisation, and the seller has 48 hours to provide it. Failing that, TikTok can remove products, suspend the seller from the programme or the account, and require compensation to the buyer of up to twice the product price plus shipping.
This matters for creator work. If a creator promotes a product that later fails an authenticity check, your campaign points buyers to a listing that may disappear mid-flight.
7. Why official-store trust matters
Cosinkorea reported on 31 July 2026, citing Metric's Q4 2025 analysis, that 64% of Vietnam beauty e-commerce revenue came from official brand stores, that average unit price rose 13% and that the number of active sellers fell 13% year on year. That figure is about beauty and comes from a Korean trade-press article quoting Metric, so read it as a signal of direction rather than a rule for every category.
The same article describes beauty and personal-care spending on Shopee, TikTok Shop and Lazada in 2025 of about VND 74.5 trillion, up roughly 30%, with TikTok Shop gaining share. The takeaway for brands is simple: buyers are moving toward shops that signal authenticity.
8. What Mall status changes for creator campaigns
Creators and KOCs send traffic to a destination shop, so the shop's trust level affects conversion and creator confidence. Our view is that a Mall shop makes it easier to recruit KOCs, because they can promote with less risk of a counterfeit dispute attached to their name. That is a practical judgement, not a TikTok statement.
In the brief, name the exact shop and product listing, state who the seller of record is, and say how creators should describe origin and authenticity. Keep claims inside what your product documents support, and check the affiliate rules for sample and commission setup.

9. Document checklist: own entity vs distributor
Use the checklist below to see which route fits. Both routes need a Vietnam-registered seller entity; the difference is who holds the brand rights.
- Own Vietnamese entity: business registration, legal representative ID, business bank account, trademark certificate valid in Vietnam
- Distributor route: the distributor's business registration plus a signed authorization letter or distribution agreement from the brand owner, with the authorized scope and expiry date
- Both: proof that all listed products are the brand's own products, accurate brand names, and a plan to renew documents before they expire
- Brand recognition evidence if requested: official website, social accounts, offline store details
10. Mistakes to avoid
Do not let an authorization letter expire without renewal, because the terms tie participation to valid documents. Do not list OEM or unbranded items in a Mall shop, and do not put banned words such as Flagship in the shop name.
Do not brief creators before the shop and listings are final. A creator who films before the listing is approved may need to reshoot or re-link later, and that costs more than waiting a week.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can a foreign brand open a TikTok Shop Mall store directly?
Under TikTok Shop Vietnam's registration guidelines, corporate sellers must be entities registered in Vietnam. A foreign brand therefore usually works through its own Vietnamese entity or an authorised distributor.
What document do I need for Mall?
Valid proof of authority to sell your products, such as a trademark certificate for the owner or an authorization letter or distribution agreement for a distributor. TikTok's terms say documents must stay valid.
How long do I have to supply documents?
TikTok's terms say it can grant an extension of up to three months from registration for the programme to provide valid documentation. It also says this is at its sole discretion.
Does Mall status guarantee more sales?
No source we checked guarantees it. A Metric figure reported by Cosinkorea says official stores generated most Vietnam beauty e-commerce revenue, but that describes beauty only and is not a promise for your brand.
Should creators wait for Mall approval?
Brief creators only after the shop and listings are final. If Mall approval is pending, say so in the brief and avoid claims about Mall status until the tag appears.
